The SMIC library (including the high school library), currently has a collection of nearly 98,000 books (copies) in English and Chinese, with new books arriving one after another.

Reading is an essential way to acquire knowledge, know the world, and sharpen thoughts. Interest is the fundamental element for most of the successful people around the world. Interest can provide kids with joy and can drive kids further on their way of learning.

Out of the concerns for the growth of every kid, the school’s objective is to encourage students to be book lovers. As a learning-driven school, we come to utilize this to improve the learning capacity of your kids. Parents are welcome to take part in “Happy-Reader Program”, so that kids’ reading habit can be built up.

The school library has developed a specific evaluation form for the "Happy-Reader Program" and will select the "Happy-Reader Reward", "Bachelors Reward", "Masters Reward" and "Doctorate Reward" according to the specific rules. Happy-Reader Reward will be awarded to encourage students to read more, read better, and develop the habit of reading and accumulating knowledge from childhood.
