In order to expand students' reading horizons, cultivate their interest in reading, and improve their core literacy, our school has launched the "Bookish Campus Reading Program". This program requires the participation of all students, teachers and parents to read more, read better, and read good books, so that reading will always be with SMIC students, making reading a lifelong habit and making reading a teaching characteristic of SMIC.
Student Reading Levels
The school implements a nine-year consistent format and divides the levels of student reading into four grades, which are as follows
Level 1-2 : Bookish Person
Level 3-4: Bookish Bachelor
Level 5-6: Bookish Master
Level 7-8: Bookish Doctor
Under each level, there are 5 stars, namely 1 star, 2 stars, 3 stars, 4 stars and 5 stars. For each star rating, the teacher of the class will give points according to the students' sharing in class and their reading assignments, and assign different grades.
The specific rules will be determined by each lesson planning team after discussion. The general principle is to encourage students' interest in reading.
